- About Marcos Nardini
Marcos was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. He started training Jiu-Jitsu under Orlando Saraiva in 1998 when he was 16. He originally wanted to learn to improve his self-confidence and physical conditioning - goals he considers the sport useful for attaining.
In 2001, Marcos was granted a visa to study Jiu-Jitsu in the USA. This led him to Boulder, Colorado where he studied under Amal Easton and he gained his Black Belt i August 2006. During this time, Marcos gained experience fighting in competitions such as Pan-American Grappling Quest and events hosted by Rorion Gracie.
While studying for his Black Belt, Marcos undertook training courses on coaching and instruction. He is currently fully insured to instruct classes through Caledonian Muay Thai.
He is living in Ayrshire with his wife, who he met while travelling in New Zealand. He is looking forward to the opportunity to help with the expansion of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Scotland.
